I have found OTE very good compared with the other agencies. There are regular positions sent via email, and I appreciate the courtesy calls when placed in a position. I was never pushed to accept an OTE position when I had found other positions on my own (unlike other agencies). Recommended.

I really appreciated the care you took with all my placements and the effort you went to with keeping in touch, even while I was in a job, checking everything was ok, etc... Generally I thought the level of service was excellent - I was amazed when you rang me less than half an hour within registering my details with you!

A few things I did have a problem with were - Getting a National insurance number, this takes 4-8 weeks and some employers really get annoyed if you only have a temporary one as they cannot submit their end-of-year IRD payments electronically and get a discount if they have temporary numbers. Also I didnt have a uniform.

Generally I really enjoyed working in England and I will let you know when I return to start work again. Cheers Nick

I have found Owen Tate Ellis to be the most professional and efficient of the locum agencies I have used. Although email updates keep me abreast of the latest jobs, Owen Tate Ellis never lose the personal approach and always phone me with jobs of particular interest to me. The written confirmation of locums is prompt and accurate and it gives an additional feeling of security having everything in writing before you start a job. Like many people, when I started locum work in Feb 2003 I registered with several agencies. I got a single position each through two other agencies and although everything went well and both practices were pleased with my work, neither agency contacted me again, either to find out how things went or to offer me further work (apart from the occasional shopping list of jobs sent out regularly by email!). By complete contrast James and more recently Nick, keep in contact at all stages before, during and after every position and also in between jobs to see how things are going generally. With Owen Tate Ellis I have never felt like just a name on a list and when I phone them I always get the feeling that they are working on my behalf as much as the employers. Overall I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone, locum or practice and I will continue to use them in the future.

I feel that Owen Tate Ellis have provided me with a consistently high level of service. The service provided is very professional but above all I feel it is also very friendly and personalised. Compared with the 4 other locum agencies I use (most of whom just send me a monthly "current jobs available" email), every job I have received through Owen Tate Ellis has followed a phone call from Nick or James. This indicates to me that they more closely observe my personal job requirements and don't bother hassling me with jobs that won't be appropriate for me. They discuss the position with me and forward my details to the Practice Manager - saving me a lot of time as all the "dirty work" is already done. Finally, the phone call or email midway through the locum to enquire things are progressing well adds the final touch to their excellent service. All in all, my feelings about the service provided by Owen Tate Ellis is reflected in the locums I have received - having used 5 agencies, 80% of my locums have been through Owen Tate Ellis.

When in Australia, and stressing out about getting a job before my plane was due, I emailed all the locum agencies listed in the Vet Record, and then some! I quickly found out, that the English did not respond to email very quickly, and preferred faxes or the telephone! Most locum agencies got back to me within one to two weeks, some up to three; with the exception of Owen Tate Ellis - Nick got back to me within 24 hours. He lined me up with a suitable job, and I had my first locum position! Then Nick contacted me about the flight, assuaged my fears of flying, and wished me the best of luck. In England, he rang me to see how I was settling in, and contacted me during my locum to see how it was going. So, I would thoroughly recommend Owen Tate Ellis, and I have done, to any veterinary surgeon or nurse.

Your services differ from most other agencies in a number of ways. We have found some other agencies to be the exact opposite of Owen Tate Ellis. Some are very unreliable with a slow reponse (if any) to queries. Some agencies withhold too much information, which can be frustrating when trying to find work, as you have too wade through long lists of inappropriate jobs too find one that suits.

We feel your service has been very friendly, efficient and reliable. We commend you on the way you deal with us on a personal level although we have not met in person. We find you very approachable and that your WebSite is well designed with a good level of information available to us. This makes selecting appropriate jobs easier and saves a great deal of time wasting.
